The integration programme for foreigners organised by the French Community Commission – Implementation and financing

The Belgian Court of Audit examined the integration programme for foreigners organised by the French Community Commission. This programme aims to facilitate the integration of newcomers residing in the Brussels territory. It combines for example individual support, language courses and information on their rights and obligations. Some 2,300 new beneficiaries followed the programme in 2019, 500 of whom completed it. Since 1 June 2022, it has been mandatory for newcomers to follow the integration programme, unless otherwise stated in the legislation. The Court analysed the implementation and financing of the integration programme.
