The integration programme for foreigners organised by the Walloon Region – Implementation and financing

The Belgian Court of Audit examined the integration programme launched by the Walloon Region in 2014. This programme aims to facilitate the integration of newcomers residing in the regional territory. It combines for example individual support, language courses and information on their rights and obligations. It is mandatory for newcomers but is also accessible to foreigners or persons of foreign origin on a voluntary basis. In 2019, the Walloon integration programme was followed by about 3,000 people, 60% of whom obtained their programme completion certificates.
