The Court of Audit carried out two audits regarding job matching, i.e. an audit on the quality of the information on shortage occupation on the one hand and an audit on directing education at the labour market on the other.
To underpin its policy, the government mainly relies on the annual studies of the Flemish Service for Employment and Vocational Training (VDAB) about shortage occupation. These studies are an important tool, but their current structure gives a partly distorted and overrated image of the issue. The Court of Audit formulated a number of recommendations to make these studies more usable.
