Report to the Federal Parliament: recruitment and selection at the federal police

general assembly on February 18, 2015

The Court of Audit examined the role of the federal police services in the selection procedures of the operational framework (police officers and deputies) as well as of the administrative and logistic framework (civil staff). The federal police make substantial efforts when selecting police officers and deputies in order to ensure the quality of its staff. Nevertheless, the procedure is time-consuming and is not immune to a subjectivity bias. Moreover, the selections of administrative and logistic staff are not always implemented with due care, which leads to multiple infractions and deficiencies. In conclusion, the regulation is set by different overlapping and sometimes contradictory texts.
