Preservation of biodiversity in agricultural areas – Examination of the Walloon policy for the sustainable use of pesticides

The Belgian Court of Audit has examined the Walloon policy for the reduction of pesticides. Its aim was to verify this policy’s compliance with the European objectives and the effective, coordinated and targeted implementation of the Walloon Region’s underlying plans. The audit has highlighted major shortcomings concerning the availability of data and statistics, the planning, and the effectiveness and coordination of the implemented policy.
