Maintenance of Prison Facilities in Public-Private Partnership - Monitoring by the Public Building Authority (Régie des bâtiments) and the Ministry of Justice

general assembly on November 21, 2018

Three new prisons are currently operated under a DBFM (Design, Build, Finance & Maintain) public-private partnership. In its report to the Federal Parliament, the Court of Audit examines how the State monitors the maintenance activities of these prisons. Although measures are taken to ensure that the service provider lives up to its commitments, the Court still considers that a rationalisation of the system and several improvements would make it possible to better control this type of contract.
