Human resources management at the Federal Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers: 2024 follow-up of the recommendations
general assembly on January 22, 2025
In its report to the Federal Parliament, the Belgian Court of Audit took stock of the implementation of the 22 recommendations from its October 2022 audit. At that time, it had analysed the main HR processes applied by the Federal Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (Fedasil) and had followed up on the recommendations made in 2009. In 2022, the Court had recommended that Fedasil develop a HR risk analysis and better control its management processes and their compliance with legislation and internal control standards, among other things. By the end of its follow-up audit on 3 December 2024, eight recommendations from 2022 had been implemented, ten were being implemented and four had not been followed. Despite the remaining efforts, Fedasil’s administrative organisation and internal control have improved thanks to management processes and tools (risk analysis, operational plan, cooperation between departments, etc.).
