The Belgian Court of Audit has examined the Walloon Region’s policy on business parks. The Region notably defines the business parks’ perimeters by a recognition decree and subsidies the equipment and rehabilitation works carried out by certified operators. The Court’s audit has been divided into two parts. The first has evaluated the public policy on four topics: the vision behind the business parks development, the support to the economic activity development, the interdependence with spatial planning and the promotion of sustainable development. The second has looked into how the Region has been subsidising business parks.
