Belgian Immigration Office : Processing Applications for Family Reunification: 2021 and 2023 follow-ups of the Court’s recommendations

In its report to the Federal Parliament, the Belgian Court of Audit has followed up on the implementation of the 26 recommendations made in its initial audit in January 2020, during which it examined how the Immigration Office had been processing the applications for family reunification. As of 30 April 2023, the Court considers that six of its recommendations have been met, including that of controlling the processing times for visa applications and improving the collaboration of the Immigration Office with its external partners. Fifteen recommendations are currently being implemented and five have not been followed.
