The registration system of administrative, medical and nursing data (RHM) and other related systems

The Belgian Court of Audit examined the registration quality of the RHM in its report to the Federal Parliament. The RHM contains data about admissions that hospital are bound to registrer and report to the Department of Health (DH). The DH further uses these data as a tool for hospital and scientific research funding, and for preparing the health policy. The Court concludes that not all conditions are met as regards the efficient, consistent and effective data registration. Besides, the Court observes that, because of a shortage of means, the DH is unable to provide sufficient support to hospitals in this matter.
