Traditionally, under Article 180 of the Constitution, the observations made by the Court of Audit within the scope of its auditing missions are forwarded to Parliament by way of yearly Reports of comments, published as parliamentary documents. Besides a succinct reminder of the various reports transmitted to Parliament in the course of the year (budget analyses, prefiguration with regard to the accounts of the preceding year, reports concerning the approval ("visa") with reservation, etc.), these Reports of comments set out the results of the main audits carried out in the various administrations and bodies falling under the Court of Audit's remit. They also contain general information pertaining to public finances and, particularly, to the tasks and powers of the institution. Since 1989, a specific Report of comments has been provided to the federal legislative assembly as well as to the legislative assembly of each community and region concerned.
The special reports are published separately without waiting until the Reports of comments are published. After they have been forwarded to the legislative assemblies, the Court of Audit's publications are taken up in this site in the PDF-format. They are only available in the original language(s) in which they were published. However, an English abstract is added to special reports published in the English pages of this site after September 2002.
The Court of Audit's annual report 2008 is also available on this site, in French or in Dutch.
